What Was I Thinking??

My weight loss has slowed down lately, so I decided I would step up my workouts at the gym. Yesterday, I took a class called Barbell Strength. It is a strength training class that should work all your muscles. Yes, that's right, muscles you didn't know you had! This morning I woke up so sore! I decided I had not done enough to punish my weight-loss resistant body, so I took a 60-minute cycling class. Even though I am used to a 60-90 minute workout, this class kicked my butt! I am sure that tomorrow I will be even more sore, plus my butt hurts from the bicycle seat! That scale better be good to me on Monday at my Weight Watcher meeting!

Rylee's So Big!

At the gym yesterday, I could not find Rylee. I looked all around the jungle gym inside. They have not been playing outside much because of the heat. We had a 95 degree day and it felt so great that they were outside. She is finally tall enough to jump up and swing on the monkey bar. She was showing me, so I was able to get a couple of pictures.

Women's Friendship Dinner

This year's Women's Friendship Dinner at our church was Tuesday night. It is the kick-off for the fall Bible Studies. There are tables of 8 women and each table has a "hostess" that decorates the table.

We recently merged our Sunday School class with another class and we are all getting to know each other better. So, we wanted to have a big group there this year and also use it as an outreach opportunity. The lady in our class that takes care of the women's events asked me if I would be a hostess. Having never attended the event in the past, I was very hesitant. But, I didn't want to say no, so I said yes, BUT, I have no decorating skills at all. I can do nametags and I own a lot of crystal, but that's about as far as my talent goes.

So, about a week before the event, Faydra, Shana, and I got together to plan our tables. We thought we would have three. Well, it turned out that we have such a good response from our class, we needed four tables. Three hostesses for four tables. We had a lot of work to do. It didn't take us long to come up with a plan, and it worked out great. It was amazing how each of us had certain things and when we put it all together, it was so pretty! We had a great time and Thelma Wells was the guest speaker. She had a great message, and she was so funny.

I was nervous about the whole thing and it turned out great. We are already talking about how to decorate our tables for next year! Sorry my pictures are not the best, I forgot my good camera and used my iphone.

The Crib is Down

Well, it's a sad day for me. Yes, I am feeling sorry for myself. Today, I did something I have been dreading. For the first time in 3 1/2 years, we no longer have a crib in our house. I spent the morning taking the crib apart. I know I should be excited that the girls are getting big and can do so much more, but a part of my heart is breaking because I know we will probably not get to use it again. My brain knows that this is the right decision for our family and my health, but, my heart is having a hard time accepting this decision. Here are some pictures of the crib coming down and Reagan's room back to some kind of order since getting the crib out and the toddler bed in its place.

On the bright side, maybe it will get used again. Ashley, it's all yours! It is in our garage waiting for you. But, the offer is only good in Texas, so tell Blake that we expect you back here before you need it!

A Sweet Heart Moment

I had an interesting conversation with Rylee yesterday. We were in the car driving to the gym and Reagan said, "PaBill." I really had not thought about her remembering, but she said it so plainly. So, I just listened and Rylee told Reagan, "Remember, Reagan, PaBill died." So, I gave it a minute and Rylee said, "Momma, when did PaBill die?" I told her it was in March. Then, this is what surprised me. I had tried to avoid the conversation. She said, "I know, Momma, PaBill died on March 16th! That's my birthday and it was a special day! PaBill loved me so much and I miss him! But, Momma, it's okay because PaBill is with Jesus now!" I didn't think she realized it was her birthday, but I guess she did. I'm glad she has such a sweet heart and I think she believes he picked that day just because it was her birthday!

Free at Last!

I have been sleeping in this splint for two months now. I went to see my podiatrist today and although I am not 100% better, I have been given freedom from the splint! She said if it has not worked in two months, it probably won't. I got another cortizone injection and this is probably the last one I will get. This is the 4th one so far. I go back in two weeks and we'll see where I'm at. I have a feeling another surgery is in my future. I had the other foot done in July 2003. I learned my lesson and won't be having it done until the fall. Although the cast/boot only has to be worn for two weeks, two weeks in July was not fun! So, it's nearly 11:00 pm and I'm off to bed, where I plan to get a wonderful nights rest, sleeping on my tummy again!!

Wrinkle Release?

Rhonda was out of the house at a meeting while I took care of the kids this evening, and I heard Rylee and Reagan making a commotion in the laundry room. To my surprise, I found Reagan's head poking out of the clothes dryer looking at me! Of course, Rylee was inside as well. I immediately grabbed the camera and snapped this photo before tanning their hides for crawling in there (it was funny, though). They understand to never do that again.
