Our Blog Is Moving!

A year or so ago, we moved our blog very briefly to Wordpress.com.  We came back to Blogger because we couldn't play our videos for free.  Now that we host our videos on YouTube, we are going to try Wordpress again.  The main reasons for our move include:

  1. More control over the management of posts.
  2. Statistical reports.
  3. Users can choose to have subsequent comments e-mailed to them, thereby seeing the comments made after them on a particular post (similar to posting on someone's Facebook wall).
  4. More of our posts are originating from our mobile devices, and there are apps that are simple to use and make our jobs a little easier.
  5. Since more of our followers are viewing from mobile devices, the Wordpress theme automatically switches to a mobile theme (at least for the iPhone).  An example of what the site looks like from an iPhone is shown below.  The number of comments on a post show up as a badge on the calendar entry -- very iPhone-ish looking!
  6. I'm considering starting a second blog to track and report my physical fitness goals.  There was an article about how some people have done that to keep themselves accountable, and seeing how I haven't been to the gym in months, accountability is a problem for me.  If I decide to do this, I can manage that blog very easily from within the same app and interface for both blogs.
I've been testing out the new blog for some time now, and hopefully I've got everything setup just like we want it.  Therefore, effectively immediately, please start watching our blog at http://thereevesreview.wordpress.com.  Update your favorites, etc. to point to this new location.  All our previous posts have been copied over to the new blog already.  If you don't use a feed reader to follow your blogs, news, etc., I encourage you to do so -- you will be automatically notified when our blog is updated.

Not to disappoint, we have created a new post on the new blog today of the girls telling Mimi hello.  We're also going to start posting our photos a little larger on the screen, making it easier for you to see, and we may make the full-size images smaller to save on server space (I'm not sure how may people view our huge files).

Finally, on the new Wordpress blog, you will notice that hovering over images will bring up an image preview window.  I find those annoying, and you can disable them once and for all by clicking on the link within the preview window that mentions turning it off.
