Haagen-Dazs

I am at Haagen-dazs watching my family eat ice cream. Watching my weight is not much fun sometimes!

Cheese Sticks, Hair, & More

After working out and swimming at the gym, we went to Applebees for lunch. Reagan worked hard to eat the mozzarella sticks and the stringy cheese inside of them. I enjoyed watching her try.

Daddy is always behind the camera and therefore is rarely seen in photos. Here is one of him ;-)

Finally, Reagan's hair is borderline cute and borderline embarrassing. What to do, what to do...

Hot Rollers

Rylee has been asking me to curl her hair all the time. I have thought about purchasing some hot rollers, but did not know how well they would work. Aunt Chelsey is here for a visit, so I asked her if we could borrow her set. We tried it and Rylee loved it! Daddy thinks she looks a little too grown-up.

Reagan's Allergy Test Results

We arrived at the doctor's office and Reagan was doing great. She let them listen to her lungs, take her temperature and blood pressure. She was happy as usual...

Then, we were talking to the nurse about her and she stepped up on a step stool they have to use to climb up on the exam table. Jason told her to get down and as she stepped off, she tripped and fell right into the wooden chair leg where I was sitting. She hit on one eyebrow all the way down her cheek. Here are the results...
We iced it down and then the fun part started. They did twenty-five injection sites to check for allergies. This is more than we did with Rylee. Reagan seems to have a constantly runny nose, so we also tested for things like grass and molds. She sat in my lap and I held her arms while Jason held her legs. As soon as they were done with the injections, we started "Clifford the Big Red Dog" on my iphone thanks to YouTube. That kept her pretty entertained for the 20 minutes she had to sit there with me still holding her arms.

The results were exactly what we prayed for. Thank you, Lord!

The great news is that she is not allergic to peanuts or tree nuts! While she can have them, we will still be a nut-free household and she won't have much exposure to them.

All the other tests were negative with the exception of a small reaction to shell fish. It is not a confirmed allergy and we will try to feed her a little bit to test at some point. We will just need to have benadryl handy when we decide to try it. Since we are not huge seafood lovers, it may be a while before we take that challenge.

Thank you all for your prayers! Love you!

Allergy Testing for Reagan

We would appreciate your prayers for Reagan tomorrow morning. We will be going to the allergist for testing. Since Rylee is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts, the doctor said it is highly likely that Reagan may be also. Since we don't want an ER visit like we did with Rylee, we have opted to have Reagan tested. We did this with Rylee and know it is quite miserable. They will use needles and inject her back with about 8-10 different things. She then has to sit completely still for 15 minutes so they can read the test. If she does not react, the test should not be too bad. With Rylee, the peanut injection swelled her back and around her side and made it very red and itchy. We are praying Reagan does not have any allergies and that the test goes as smoothly as possible. You might also pray for Mommy and Daddy because it is never fun to see your child hurt and to have to be the one holding them down in the process. We'll post an update as soon as possible. The appointment is at 9:45. Thank you!

Swimming Lessons

We started swimming lessons at the gym on Monday morning. We will go Mon-Thur for two weeks. They are thirty minute sessions and were supposed to have four kids in each class. However, the classes ended up with only one child per class, ours! So, we are getting private lessons for the group lesson cost. What a deal!

Rylee is doing great! She is learning to float on her back, go under water, and learning several different ways to swim. She is not confident on her own yet, but we're getting there.

Reagan is in a "Mommy and Me" class where I swim with her. She is doing okay, but is mostly playing. The teacher says she is doing great for her age. She says she wants to go down the slide at the lake, so I want her to be able to go under without choking. We'll see how that goes.

Dining With a Princess

We decided to eat at On The Border for supper tonight. Rylee insisted on wearing her tiara. I need to hunt an animal or go camping to offset all the "girly" things in my life :-)

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Here is a video I took in late May of Reagan singing "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" with Rylee's Barbie guitar. The song is pre-programmed into the guitar along with a few others. This one is their favorite.

In The Corner

Reagan has not been very obedient lately, so we decided to try something new. We will see if this helps!

Father's Day

Jason woke up this morning with the girls crawling into bed saying, "Happy Father's Day!!". They had his card ready for him to open. Rylee picked out the card several days ago and told her Daddy we got him a Nemo card but it was a surprise. Don't trust her! We went to church, then to Abuelo's for lunch. This evening Jason played the Father's Day card and picked Arby's for supper. I was not thrilled, but that is where we went. His gift was the new flash for the camera. We had a great time celebrating.

Happy Father's Day to my Daddy. Thank you for always being there and always loving me!

Also, Happy Father's Day to my father-in-law. Thank you for raising and loving the man I love and for welcoming me into the Reeves family a long time ago!

Busy Saturday

We woke up this morning and Jason went to play golf in our Sunday School class tournament (which he helped plan). The girls and I went to IHOP and met Pa Pa, Gran, and Skylar for breakfast. We then went to the gym to work off those pancakes! We left the gym quickly and stinky because Reagan pooped in her panties. Fun stuff! We got home, bathed Reagan, ate lunch, and the girls went down for naps. I ate (by myself!) and then showered. Jason got home just in time for me to back out of the garage as he pulled in. Reagan stayed home with Daddy and finished her nap and Rylee and I went to the airport to pick up Laura's mother-in-law, Cindy. We took her back to Laura's and checked on her. She is doing well and the swelling is much better today. Rylee and I got home and the whole family headed to the mall. Jason was needing some new work clothes so we found him some pants and shirts. We ate at Chick-fil-a and headed to the gym. We took the girls swimming and hopefully got them signed up for swimming lessons. We should know tomorrow if their classes were full. We got home and finally got them to bed at 9:30. What a day! Sorry there are no pictures today, but we decided to just hang out at the pool without the camera.

On a side note, my fears have been confirmed...Reagan has NO FEAR in the water! She would jump right off the side and had no problem getting her head wet. Rylee is doing really well. She went under several times without crying, which is a big improvement over last year.

All we do is EAT OUT!

Another night, another meal out! We went to a pizza place by Laura's house with Pa Pa, Gran, and Skylar, and then tried a place called "Shakes" for ice cream. It is similar to Sheridan's. It was a nice treat!

Rudy's

We met my parents at Rudy's Barbeque for supper. They brought Skylar with them and Brad stayed with Laura. She is doing pretty well. She is still swollen and hurting, but each day is getting better.

Bedtime

The girls are always really sweet about telling each other goodnight and giving hugs and kisses.

Update on Laura

Laura's surgery went very well. She is in her room at the hospital and resting. They did not have to wire her jaw and did not have to take bone from her hip as planned. Those are huge answers to prayer for her! She should get to come home today, but has a long hard road to get back to 100%. Thanks again for your prayers.

Playing Outside

After Laura's surgery, my parents and Skylar came to our house. We went to eat and then let the girls play outside. Laura is doing well and will hopefully be home from the hospital tomorrow.

Skylar
Jason is loving his new camera lens!
A mother's work is never done!

Laura's Surgery

Laura is having surgery this morning on her jaw/face to correct her sleep apnea. This is the description I found on wikipedia:

Maxillomandibular Advancement (MMA) or orthognathic surgery, also sometimes called Bimaxillary Advancement (Bi-Max), or Maxillomandibular Osteotomy (MMO).

A surgical procedure which moves the jaw top (maxilla) and bottom (mandible) forward. Used to correct facial deformity, receding chin, and for sleep breathing disorders - See Sleep Apnea.

MMA is often performed along with Genioglossus Advancement (tongue advancement) to treat sleep breathing disorders.

We would appreciate your prayers as this is going to be very painful for her. Thanks and love you all!

Macaroni Grill

My parents arrived and we met Laura's family at Macaroni Grill for dinner. This is Laura's last meal before her surgery in the morning, so she picked the place. It's one of our favorites. The girls were happy to see each other.

Love and War in Texas

Uncle Blake and Aunt Ashley spent the weekend at Possum Kingdom Lake, and we got to have dinner with them before they flew back to Tucson. We learned that Reagan likes fried pickles! We had a great visit with everyone (their friend, Tyler, also joined us).

Pizza Inn

Reagan enjoyed her lunch after church at Pizza Inn. Look at that hair and smile.

Sick or Just Tired?

Thursday night Reagan started running fever and was not feeling well. I really needed to go to VBS on Friday because I was teaching in the 5 year old class and Rylee really wanted to go to her class. Jason stayed home with her and took care of her on Friday. By this morning, she was not running fever, but was still a little sluggish. She spent time laying around and watching TV while she recovered. I don't know if she was really sick or just worn out from VBS.
