Sweater
I had to laugh at my daily calendar entry today.
Sweater, n.: garmet worn by child when its mother is feeling chilly.
My mom will appreciate this one! When I was little. she would say, "I'm cold, go put on a coat."
Love you, Mom!

ER Visit
The girls at our house have all been fighting some kind of crud for about three weeks now. We seem to be passing it around, and somehow have left Jason out of the mix. Well, during the night last night, Reagan started having a hard time breathing. I thought she was just that stopped up. Then, at some point in the night, as I was laying there listening to her breathe over the monitor, it suddenly occurred to me that she had croup. You can't deny that little seal bark cough. So, this morning, I called and made an appointment with our pediatrician, thinking he would give us a prescription and we'd be on the mend. Well, I was wrong! We got to the the doctor's office at 11:40. The nurse called us back and I should have known something was up. She didn't sit down and put things in the computer or just chat like normal. She listened to her chest and said, keep her laying down, I'll be right back. She came back with the monitor for oxygen levels and Dr. Nail was right behind her. He wasn't in there but just a minute and he said you have to go to the Emergency Room right now. They could not get a reading on her oxygen level and he said she was really struggling to breathe. Of course, I feel like the mom of the year about now. So, off we go to the ER. I called Jason on the way and he headed up to get Rylee. Of course, none of us had eaten lunch and we were not prepared for a day in the ER. Luckily, I had packed sippy cups and goldfish crackers just in case the appointment ran long. I walked into the ER and they were ready to see us. Dr. Nail had called ahead and that helped so much. I was doing really well and they were checking Reagan out. She was really happy through the whole day. I thought things were okay, and then a guy came to the window covered in blood because he had just about cut his finger off. I told the nurse to go ahead and see about him and she said, "No, airways come before appendages." That is when I got worried. They checked her out and finally got an oxygen reading. It was 99, so that was a big relief. We went back to a room and she got steroids and a breathing treatment. We stayed there most of the afternoon. Jason came and got Rylee and took her to Chick-fil-a. He brought Reagan and I some food and then took Rylee home for a nap. The medicine they gave Reagan made her a little hyper. She was not able to sit still at all. So, I am worn out. I am just thankful she is okay. She will be on steroids for 5 days. Now, if we can just keep Rylee from getting it.

Talbot's Fashion Show
Our Sunday School class got together with another class and had a fashion show at Talbot's. I thought it would be fun to invite Laura to join me. It turned out to be work for Jason, and fun for Laura and I. Jason, Rylee, Reagan, and I picked Skylar up at school and then met Laura for supper. Then, Jason brought all three girls to our house and took care of them while Laura and I went to Talbot's. It was fun to get to see all the new things for fall and get to shop a little. We also were raising money for the Prestonwood Pregnancy Center, which is a great cause. Laura and I got back to my house and Jason had our girls in bed and Skylar was coloring. He's a great guy, isn't he?

CBS
I got to go to Community Bible Study (CBS) today. I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to doing an in-depth bible study. We are studying the book of Genesis, and I am really looking forward to it. I have a lot to learn! The girls both really liked their teachers and Rylee made a really cute basket with baby Moses in it. They even cut little blankets out of material to put on top of the picture she colored of Moses. How cute!

Weight Watchers
I didn't want to go to my Weight Watchers meeting today. I was not very good on my weekend away. I didn't go crazy, but I certainly didn't stay away from dessert! I was quite shocked and happy to learn I stayed exactly the same as last week. I'll take that! So, as of today, I have lost a total of 31.6 pounds!

He's Super-Daddy
I had a great time on my retreat and I was so happy to see my family. I knew Jason would do a great job, and of course, he did. Not only were the girls well taken care of, even my sick little Rylee, but he managed to do laundry, make up the beds, load and run the dishwasher, and was ready to take me out to dinner Sunday night. I did get several emails while I was gone telling me how much he appreciates all I do at home. It's always nice to be missed! Thanks, Jason. I love you!

Mommy gets a Vacation!!
For the first time in forever, I am getting away for the weekend. Jason is keeping the girls from Thursday night until Sunday afternoon and I am going to a scrapbook retreat! I can't wait! There are 15 ladies mostly from our Sunday School class going and I have big plans for what I am going to get done. I will be the first to admit, I am taking too much stuff. But, I don't want to get there and wish I had something I had left at home. I am riding to the big city of Bowie with my friends Reagan, Dianna, and Hailee. Here is a picture of Reagan's suburban packed to the limit with all of our stuff. There's barely room for the four of us!

Rylee is sick
I woke up this morning to Rylee running fever. She also had a rash on her legs and bottom. There is never a good time for your kids to be sick, but this really stinks! I had planned to start Community Bible Study (CBS) on Thursdays this fall and of course, this is the first one. Also, I was planning to leave tonight for a scrapbooking retreat for the whole weekend. I talked to Jason and offered to stay home from my retreat (I didn't really mean it!). He said that I should still go. But, he did want me to take Rylee to the doctor. She has a virus, so just give Tylenol and keep her happy. So, he can do that while I am away.

Gifts from GranBob
GranBob loves to shop for the girls. A while back, Rylee took her purse to church and it didn't make it home. So, Rylee has been quite sad that she lost her purse. So, GranBob to the rescue!! She found not one, but two cute purses for Rylee. She also found a really cute Taggie ball for Reagan. She mailed them to us because the girls love to get mail. Here are some pictures of them opening their mail. Thanks, GB!

Don't trust Daddy
I was getting ready to go to GEMS (Godly Encouragement for Moms) and things were a bit busy. Jason has accountability on Tuesdays, so we were basically passing each other. I had fed the kids supper and Reagan was eating slowly. She was finishing up her yogurt just as Jason got home. I ran to the bathroom to brush my teeth before leaving and asked him to watch her and then clean her up when she was done. Well, he sat down at my computer and started reading the news, and when I came back to the kitchen, this is what I found. Yogurt does not make good hair mousse! So, Daddy got to do baths tonight while I was out.

Foot Surgery
Well, after months of trying other options, I have decided to have surgery on my foot. I have been through anti-inflammatory medication, shoe inserts (which I already wore all the time due to my CMT), stretching exercises, five cortisone injections, radiofrequency therapy, slept in a splint for 8 weeks, and lost 30 pounds. I had this same surgery on my left foot 5 years ago, and it was very successful. The only problem was wearing a cast in July. Not the smartest thing when you live in Texas! I am on the schedule for Oct 3rd, so hopefully the weather will be cooler. While I don't want to have to do this, I am ready to get it done and move on.
Please pray for a safe and successful surgery and also for the girls. My parents are going to take them home with them for nearly a week. This will be the first time they have had both girls for an extended time. They will bring them home and then Kathy may come help out. That depends on the hurricane status and if Earl needs her where he is working. If she can't come, then Jason will probably take a few days off work. I will be in the cast for at least two weeks and will not be able to lift Reagan. If all else fails, we may call on some friends to help. We have great friends, so I am not worried about it.
Thanks for your prayers!

Big Girl
I can't believe how big Rylee is getting. She will officially be 3 1/2 on the 16th. It seems like time is flying by. Jason took her to church while Reagan and I stay home. Reagan has to be fever-free for 24 hours before she can go back. Hopefully we can make it by Wednesday. Here is a picture of my big girl.

Who wants this jeep?
Skylar got a Dora Jeep for her 2nd birthday. She never would ride it because she said it was too loud. So, Laura and Brad gave it to us for Rylee. Well, Rylee heard Skylar say it was too loud, so of course, now Rylee thinks it is too loud. Tonight, Rylee decided she wanted to ride it. Jason got it out and Rylee got in and cryed the whole time. Well, Rylee decided to quit and this is what happened...

Reagan is sick
Friday morning, I woke up and Reagan was still asleep. This is very unusual, but I thought she might just be extra tired. She woke up kind of grumpy, and it only got worse. By lunch she was running a slight fever. I got nervous about strep throat and called the doctor. They said watch her tonight and bring her in tomorrow morning if she is not better. By bedtime her fever was up to 101.7, so we'll see what the night holds.

Dusting off the Stove
Well, after a week out of town and then my parents here, I couldn't put it off any longer. I had to dust off the stove and cook some supper. Back to normal, boring life at the Reeves house.

On Wednesday morning, we went to the outlet mall in Allen. Rylee talked Pa Pa out of a quarter (or two!) for a ride.

Playing at the Park
My parents promised to take Skylar to the Waffle House for breakfast, but that was not going to work out since Laura got sick. On Tuesday night, Pa Pa, Gran, Rylee, Reagan, and I headed to Lewisville to pick Skylar up. We went to the Waffle House for supper and all the girls loaded up on waffles and syrup. We figured they had some energy to burn, so we stopped at the park in Laura's neighborhood and let the girls play.

Bread Eaters
On Tuesday, mom and I headed to Sam Moon for some girl time. Purses and hair bows, oh my! We had a great time and my dad went to the John Deere dealership in McKinney. We met up at Cotton Patch for lunch and the girls filled up on bread. After that, mom and I headed to Stonebriar for more shopping. We had a nice time and then headed back to the house for naps, all of us!

Pa Pa and Gran are Here!
My parents came to visit for Labor Day. They usually stay at Laura's because she has more room for them. Well, they stayed there Sunday night and on Monday morning, Laura woke up sick. She went to the doctor and has strep throat. So, my parents vacated quickly and relocated to our house. The girls were so happy to see them.

New Robe
Rylee has been asking for a bath robe like Mommy's. Well, all we had to do was mention this to GranBob and she found the perfect one! Thanks, GB!
