Comparison at 19 months

Jason's mom suggested we do a comparison of pictures of the girls when they both moved to the toddler bed. It was fun to look back and see what Rylee looked like at this age. Look at all that hair!

Toddler Bed

Reagan is 19 months old today. She is also our little monkey. My parents say I deserve this because I was the same way. We don't want her crawling out of her crib and getting hurt. So, we decided it is time to move to the toddler bed. Jason and I got it down out of the attic and here are some pictures of the process of getting it into Reagan's room. I know there are too many pictures, but I just thought they were too cute.

Weight Watchers

I went to my regular Weight Watchers meeting tonight. I had a great week! I lost 4.2 pounds this week. That puts my total loss at 27 pounds! I feel so much better than I did 14 weeks ago when I started this. I want to lose another ten, so we'll see how that goes.

Dealing with POOP!!

One of the glorious things about parenthood is dealing with poop! You don't think about these things when you find out your pregnant or when they hand you this sweet little bundle of joy in the hospital. But, yes, folks, parenthood is about a lot of poop! And, you think, "Oh, great! My child is potty-trained, so the poop dealings should slow down!" Well, no...now you have to plunge the toilet! So, here are some pictures of a normal Monday at our house.

Shopping for a Swimsuit

Ladies, you know shopping for a swimsuit is not fun! Well, I have to admit it is more fun when you've lost 20+ pounds! We are going to Florida later this year without the kids. So, I wanted a new swimsuit for our trip. I figured this was the best time since they are on sale. Well, after dragging my family all over the mall, I went back and bought the first one I tried on (yes, Dad, I know!) So, it is a red two piece. Yes, I said TWO PIECE. Can you believe it?? I am not going to show you a picture, because hopefully by the time we go on our trip, I will have lost another 10-15 pounds. I am hoping to be at my goal weight by then. So, maybe you'll see a picture from Florida this fall.

Furniture

Laura is in the process of redecorating Skylar's room. So, she is going to sell our childhood furniture. Jason and I have been looking for Reagan furniture for her "big girl room." So, we went over to their house on Friday night to look at it and see if we might use it for Reagan. We decided not to get it because the headboard if for a full/queen size bed and we really want a twin for her room. We had supper and caught up. The girls had fun playing together. I will keep watching craigslist and will hopefully find the right furniture for her room.

Mommy Time

On Thursday night, I got to go out for some "me" time. My friend, Angela, is selling Mary Kay. She asked me to come to their training center and let her do my makeup. I had a fun time and enjoyed spending time pampering myself. Now, I have a wish list for new products I want. It's a good thing my birthday is coming up!

Lexi's Birthday Party

On Wednesday night, we went to Lexi's 4th birthday party. It was at the Rosemeade Pool in the Rainforest Area (Carrollton Rec Center). We thought it was going to be a regular pool party, but we were wrong. This place was amazing! We had so much fun! They had a lazy river, kiddie pool, and the best part, a toddler area with a slide. We stayed in that area the whole time. Rylee and Reagan could walk around and play. Rylee got brave and decided to try going down the slide. We couldn't get her to quit after that. I seem to remember another little girl long ago that promised PaBill if he would buy a slide for the lakehouse, she would go down it...well, I did it at 3, so I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! After that, Reagan asked to go down (more like a point and grunt!). I went up and asked the life guard if I could go down with her in my lap, and he said yes. So, off we went. I have to admit, it was alot of fun. But, the best part was Reagan giggling all the way down. I got to the bottom and told Jason, you have to go take her down and listen to her laugh. He did, although he had to lay down because he was too tall to sit up on the slide. We played until we were all worn out. It was a great day!

The Dreaded Phone Call...

I was at home on Tuesday afternoon when the phone rings. I didn't recognize the name on the Caller ID. I answered it and a lady asks to speak to Jason. I said he was not available and asked what the call was regarding. She said, "I'm needing to talk to him about his son." Well, of course, this was a shocking statement to me! I immediately, in no uncertain terms, told her, "He does not have a son!" She was very adament that he did, so I told her I did not think she had the right Jason. So, after a little discussion, she told me, she was looking for Jason Ernest Reeves. I told her she didn't have the right person and she should keep looking. I even had the heart to tell her good luck. You would think before you dropped a bomb like that on an unsuspecting wife, that you would check to see if it was the right man!!

Jack is 40!!

Jack is the the first of our friends to hit the big 40! We surprised him with dinner at Abuelo's, one of his favorite places. We had a nice time and enjoyed a "date night" without the kids. Amy babysat for us and it went great! We got home at 8:45 and both the girls were in bed, already asleep. On top of that, Amy unloaded the dishwasher and cleaned up the kitchen from their mac and cheese dinner!

Play Date

Saturday morning. They had so much fun playing with "big girl Reagan" and Morgan.

Yogurt Monster

Reagan loves yogurt! The problem is that she is not yet good enough with the spoon to eat it by herself. But, we are working on it.

She did pretty well. But, she was very messy and upset that it was all gone!

Rylee ate her yogurt and was very neat about it! Reagan will get there one of the days, right?

Esophagogastroduodenoscopy

Can you say that fast three times? Jason had his EGD done this morning. He has been having chest pain for a while and he had his heart checked out and everything was fine. So, off to the the gastroenterologist we went. Luckily, having worked for the largest GI group in the country, I had some connections! He went in for the procedure and they said they would call me back when he was in recovery. I enjoyed a little quiet time reading while he was back there. They called me back and this is how it went:

Jason: You're here!
Rhonda: I've been here for about 5 minutes.
Jason: Is it over?
Rhonda: Yes, Dr. Brown will be here in a minute to talk to you. You need to wake up.

Jason: You're here!
Rhonda: I've been here for about 10 minutes.
Jason: Is it over?
Rhonda: Yes, Dr. Brown will be here in a minute to talk to you. You need to wake up.

Jason: You're here!
Rhonda: I've been here for about 15 minutes.
Jason: Is it over?
Rhonda: Yes, Dr. Brown will be here in a minute to talk to you. You need to wake up.

Rhonda: We have to get you dressed. Sit up and I'll get your shirt on.
Jason: I'm dizzy.
Rhonda: Let's get your shoes on. Don't fall out of the bed!

A few minutes later...

Jason: My clothes are on! Did you do that?? How long have you been here? Is it over?
Rhonda: Yes, Dr. Brown will be here in a minute to talk to you. You need to wake up.

And, my personal favorite...

Jason: My anesthesiologist was cute!

And with that, I thought it was only fitting to share with you all what he looked like during all this!

Seriously, he is fine. He has gastritis, which is inflammation of the stomach lining. It is probably caused by chronic reflux. He is on medicine and it should be improving over the next three months.

He came home and took a three hour nap. I thought everything was fine until we were eating supper and he said, "What did we have for lunch today?" He sat in Chiptole and ate a burrito and I thought he was doing better at that point. There were a few times I thought he was going to fall out of his chair. If only his anesthesiologist has been there to catch him...

Swimming

We went swimming at the Snyder's neighborhood pool this morning. This is the first time I have attempted taking both girls by myself. We had a fun time, but I am worn out! Rylee stayed close and never put her face in the water. Reagan, on the other hand, tried everything possible and went under several times. She would just come up laughing. She really keeps me on my toes!

At the Mall

We are at the mall and I'm trying to post pictures from my iPhone directly to the blog. We'll see if I can learn how to do all this.

iPhone!

Our iPhone came in today! Jason ordered it last Friday and we have been anxiously awaiting its arrival! I am learning how to use it. Jason got a new cell phone (Motorola Z9) and he likes it alot, too.

Less of me!

We were all so excited when Ashley and Blake got married. This picture was taken the day of their wedding, which was also Reagan's first birthday. I knew I had not lost the weight after having Reagan, but there is nothing like a picture to make you go, "Oh my goodness! I have got to lose weight!!" So, I saw this picture in January or February. Well, I knew I had to do something, but I guess I just was not ready yet.



So, then in March, PaBill passed away. I did a lot of thinking about how sick he had been and seeing him in a wheelchair for years really got to me. You see, I have the same form of muscular dystrophy that he had. I was not taking care of myself like I should and I was feeling really terrible. There is no cure for it and the good news is that it does not shorten your life span. He lived to be 80. I can take better care of myself by exercising and hopefully have good quality of life for as long as possible.

In April I joined Weight Watchers. I have been eating right and exercising for 12 weeks now. I am so excited to say that I have lost 22 pounds! I feel so much better! I even had to buy some new shorts because my other ones were falling off!

It feels so good to be able to say that I am doing this for myself because I decided I was worth the time and effort. I have found that by taking better care of myself, I am a better (and happier) wife and mother. I also believe that I am making better choices for my girls and hopefully they will learn early how to eat right and exercise.

I do have to say a big "Thank You!" to Jason. He has been very supportive (even cut down his trips to Baskin Robbins, Cold Stone, Marble Slab, and Haagen-Dasz!). If you know Jason, you know he is a very picky eater. He has been willing to try new recipes and he has liked most all of them!

Learning to Eat (with a fork, that is!)

We had a little trouble getting Reagan to eat when she was 6-12 months old. She never liked baby food. But, things changed quickly when she started eating table food. Now, she is a great eater. The problem is that she is such a quick eater, she sees no need for a fork or spoon. As far as she is concerned, her hands work great. So, we are working on this and here are a few pictures of her eating a muffin for breakfast.

Lazy Saturday Night

After running all over town, we decided to eat leftovers and just be lazy. Reagan and I were being silly with the camera and Jason thought I should post this picture for you.

Furniture Shopping

Saturday we went to look for Reagan's big girl furniture. She is a climber and we think she may crawl out of her crib soon. So, I have been looking online and trying to find the perfect thing. So, I found this place called DFW Furniture Direct. It said they had a showroom so we decided to go look. Well, we get there and it looks a little shady. The "showroom" was about the size of a Quizno's! The furniture was wall to wall with a little path through it. They did have the bed I was wanting to see and now we are thinking about what to do. We'll see, but it was a funny day and the girls were sweet. Here are two pictures of them hanging out in the car while we drove all over town.
