Kneel Before the Coffee Maker

Rhonda got a new coffee maker, and I must say it looks like a futuristic machine that will take over our household (rise of the machines...).  Here are some photos of our old coffee maker and its beefed-up replacement (for the record, the old coffee maker made an entire pot of coffee while the one new makes only one cup at a time, yet it is more expensive -- I'm still wrapping my brain around that one).

Yes, our existing coffee pot had dried water spots on it, I don't need to hear about it ;-)

Here is your standard coffee maker.

And then there is a COFFEE MAKER!!!

I think it is watching me...

Be afraid, be very afraid.

In all fairness, the new coffee maker doesn't actually glow this brightly in the dark.  I took the last two photos with all the lights out and with a 30-second exposure.  It's actually just a slight glow that is not highly noticeable.  I was surprised in the last photo to see the individual rays of light coming from the main button -- click on the last photo to see it larger and see what I mean.  Neat!

The coffee maker also brews hot chocolate, hot tea, and even makes iced drinks.  Rhonda has tried one cup and said it tasted very good (we bought a variety box of the single cup ground coffee packets that the maker takes).

Kitchen Bible Verse

Over Christmas, Rhonda and I picked out a Bible verse that we wanted to place on our kitchen wall. We've seen these wall products before and liked them. Rhonda and her friend, Missy, put the verse on the wall, and we really like how it turned out. I also used the verse to play around with depth of field effects with my camera.

With the last photo, I experimented with what it might look like to have a wall verse in our bedroom, and before you call me a typical guy, the verse that was chosen for that experiment was Rhonda's idea (and simply a joke).

Rylee the Chef

Rylee gets to dress up for school on Wednesday as what she wants to be when she grows up. She wants to be a "cooker" aka chef. We worked for over an hour this afternoon to make this chef hat. I think it turned out great.

Our New 27" iMac

With our camera equipment, we've been generating a ton of photos and HD videos of the family. After a lot of research, we purchased our first Mac (a 27" iMac), largely because of the media capabilities it has (my Vista computer crashing at least 73 times since March didn't hurt the cause, either). I took video with our 7D of the unboxing, you can view it by clicking on the link below. If your internet connection and machine can handle it, there is an HD version as well.

Starting Off Christmas the Rough Way

Today, Reagan didn't eat her lunch very well. She complained about stomach pains, but we figured it was just gas :-) We arrived at GB's and Rhonda took Reagan in to the restroom while I brought Rylee in from the car. I walked into the restroom to see Reagan sitting on the throne with puke all over her and some on Rhonda. She has since thrown up again and dirtied two more pairs of panties. At least she made it into the restroom and out of the car. We hope she gets better real soon!

Visit with Santa

We have been procrastinating on our visit with Santa. We usually go to see him at Jason's work, but we missed it this year due to a scheduling conflict. We braved the mall today after church. We waited in line for over an hour, but it was worth it. We warned Rylee that if she cried, we would take her out and let Reagan be in the picture by herself. We don't need another crying picture with Santa! They both did great! You know you are in a digital age when you purchase your Santa picture on a flash drive!
