Lazy, Rainy Saturday

It has been a rainy last few days. It rained literally all day today (some heavy, some just a drizzle). We're thankful for the moisture and cooler temperatures, but you still wish for a little sunshine.

Sure, its just a bush off our front porch, but my camera stayed dry.

Door Hangars

Aunt Ashley made some door hangars for the girls (Rhonda and I saw them on her blog recently. We received them in the mail, and the girls love them. They are hanging on their bedroom doors now. Thanks, Aunt Ashley!

Is this sisterly love?

Opening the package and looking over the goodies!

New Booster Seat

Jason is taking Rylee to school most of the time. She has been riding in the car seat he had in there which is actually for Reagan. Rylee has graduated up to a booster seat and we typically just move it over to the truck if we all need to ride in it. Rylee has been complaining that she is uncomfortable and she really needs a booster seat for Daddy's truck. So, off to Sam's we went. We got there and they had a grey/blue or pink with flowers. Daddy tried his best to convince her that a manly man truck really needed a grey/blue booster seat, but she was not convinced. So, he's a great Daddy and is now driving around with a pink flower booster seat in Big Red!

Has anyone seen Reagan?

Labor Day

Labor Day was a full day for us. We started by going to Hawaiian Falls with Laura and Skylar.

We all got a little burned, but Reagan is turning out to have the Reeves' tanning skin. We're all very happy for that!

We then put on our sports clothing and headed to Chick-fil-a. They were having a special where you get a free chicken sandwich if you wear your sporting teams gear. We had to wait 20 minutes for our food to be ready because of the huge demand, but we had a good time regardless. We topped the day off with a trip to Baskin Robbins.

Before bedtime, Reagan practiced her letters again (click for video).

AI Servo AF Mode

I hear many of our followers saying, "What?" AI Servo AF (Auto-Focus) mode is a camera setting that automatically refocuses on your subject as it moves. I used that mode when taking the race photos of our girls in the previous blog post below. Beforehand, I manually selected the center AF point rather than using all nine of them, and it worked out just fine (I'm not sure if that is the preferred method or not, but at least I was in control of what I was focusing on). I put together a very short video showing the center AF point be used in the race scene. Watch the video here.

Sunday Afternoon Race

After church, we all spent a few minutes outside. We have some great photos below (click them for larger versions) and a new video.

Here is the latest pic of all the women in my house ;-)

Reagan, our little runner.

Going back to Rylee to pose a challenge.

And the race is on! Reagan is already learning some interference tactics.

Both girls giving it their all.

Rylee is pulling ahead with her longer stride.

One of my new favorite shots of Rylee, and I wasn't even trying (sometimes you get lucky)!
